Chelsea captain John Terry Sent a message at the Vicarage Road with a much stronger Performance on the pitch which was much stronger than words.

Terry spoke up on Sunday about his frustration and disappointment at not being offered a new contract with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.

But a typically faultless display in the heart of Chelsea’s defence provided a much more compelling argument for the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

And the travelling Chelsea fans joined in with a chorus of their own chanting Terry’s name throughout as they made it clear they want the 35-year-old to be given a new contract.

It was, after all, Terry’s sort of game as Chelsea had to dig deep, it was a hard fought stalemate and what the contest lacked in quality it more than made up for in commitment.

Terry’s defence was under more pressure for much of the game and yet it was Chelsea who were pushing for a winner in the dying stages.

Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes had to make three excellent saves in the last ten minutes, the pick of them from Diego Costa’s close range header in the 88th minute.
